This Privacy Policy explains how the Be Positive mobile app ("the App"), operated by M. A. Sapharulla Khan / Be Positive — Centre for Counselling and Personality Development ("we", "us"), collects, uses, and protects information from people who use it.
Account information. Before you can book an appointment, you create an account with your email address and a password, along with your name, age, phone number, and gender — these help the counsellor prepare for your sessions. Sign-in is handled by Google Firebase Authentication, which stores your email address as your sign-in identity. Passwords are stored only by Firebase in hashed form — we never see them. If you forget your password, we email a one-time reset code to your address. You must agree to this Privacy Policy when creating your account.
Appointment booking. When you book an appointment, we collect:
Profile photo (optional). You may add a profile photo (via your camera or photo library). This is not required to use the App.
Payment information. Booking an appointment requires a registration fee, processed through Cashfree Payments, a third-party payment gateway. We never see or store your card, UPI, or bank details — Cashfree handles that directly. We only store a payment confirmation reference (an order ID) so we can verify your payment succeeded before confirming your appointment.
We do not collect any information through other parts of the App.
The information you submit is used solely to:
Your information is stored securely using Google Firebase services (Cloud Firestore for appointment and profile data, Cloud Storage for profile photos). Access is restricted: appointment records can only be created after your payment is verified by our backend, and only the practice can view stored appointment requests. You can only view and edit your own profile information.
When you tap "Notify via WhatsApp" or "Notify via Email," the App opens WhatsApp or your device's email app with a pre-filled message. That message is sent directly from your device through WhatsApp or your email provider — it does not pass through our servers, and its handling is subject to WhatsApp's or your email provider's own privacy policy.
The App uses the following third-party services, each with its own privacy practices:
We retain appointment and profile records for as long as needed for scheduling and continuity of care. You may request that your submitted information be deleted at any time by contacting us at the email below.
The App is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
